A Lifetime on 60-degree North

Born and bred a Shetland native, Jacqueline was brought up in a nautical family. Her dad and brothers all fishermen, and she learnt from an early age to respect the sea and the wildlife it sustains.

Her mum came from the small islands of Skerries, where Jackie spent her childhood holidays tending to the croft and the animals.

Jackie is an avid reader and loves spending her downtime furthering her knowledge and understanding of our Islands. She also enjoys exploring remote places with her camera in her motor home.

Two years ago, Jackie decided to study to become an STGA Guide. She underwent eight months of training and passed her exams to become an accredited Green Badge Tourist Guide for Shetland. She is passionate about tourism and is a Shetland Tourism Association committee member.

Jackie currently guides visiting cruise ships, leading tours covering archaeology, geology, history, the local economy, food, and traditions.

Jackie has joined Aperture Shetland as a private driver guide. There, she will plan bespoke tours tailored to your specific interests.

Jackie will head up our Taxi Service during the winter months when our tour season slows down. She is an experienced Taxi Operator and looks forward to supporting her local northern community.
